Sonora, CA — A break from the wet weather will come to an end shortly.
The National Weather Service says a series of cold fronts will move through Wednesday night bringing rain and snow showers to the Mother Lode.
Snow accumulation is possible at the 4,000 foot level. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday, with the potential for hail.
Another cold front will move through the region Thursday night and Friday, causing more widespread snow showers and strong thunderstorms. Snow levels may even fall to below 1,000 feet.
