CHP Out In Full Force For St. Patrick’s Day

Sonora, CA — Don´t rely on the luck of the Irish this weekend; if you´re going to drink, play it safe with a designated driver.

The California Highway Patrol says St. Patrick´s Day is a time of celebration that usually involves alcohol.

The latest CHP traffic fatality figures show that more than 1,400 people were killed in alcohol related crashes in 2004.

In order to try to reduce the number this year, California´s Statewide Traffic Action Response will kick into gear this weekend by pooling resources of five traffic safety related departments.
