Jamestown, CA — Tuesday afternoon´s thunder and lightning storm and subsequent rainfall caused extensive flooding of Woods Creek in Jamestown.
Two families (a total of 10 people) were evacuated from their homes on Harvard Mine Rd. The first family of six lived in a two story home. The second family evacuated could not reach its home because the rising water made the foot bridge impassible. Each home suffered between two to three feet of water damage.
The American Red Cross housed the two families overnight. Rescue operations were conducted by county fire personnel, the Sheriff´s Department and the California Highway Patrol.
