Sonora, CA– The results are in for the 2005 Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce´s annual member business survey.
The survey is done each year to measure the level of business done in the area. Compared to the percentages in 2004, the response for 2005 was slightly more negative but only by about four and a half percent says President and CEO of The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce, George Segarini.
A total of 45 percent of retail indicated business was up in 2005 and the service sector was up significantly to 65 percent. The totals in all of the categories showed little change to the 2004 year. Most of the respondents indicated they were still optimistic that the economy would be expanding in 2006.
Some of the surveys conducted discussed tourism, intention of expanding businesses, hiring more employees and whether or not Affordable housing should be of concern to the business community.
