Berkeley, CA — An independent audit into how the University of California system pays its leaders found administrators kept some details of compensation packages from the public and its own governing board.
The report was released Monday. It also found that officials did not always give the complete picture to tax officials, omitting taxable compensation on some employees´ W-2 forms.
U.C. administrators and the system´s governing Board of Regents say the breakdowns are a problem that has to be solved.
