Angels Camp, CA — 9 schools and 85 students are taking part in a science fair Saturday hosted by the Calaveras County Office of Education.
Participating are Copperopolis, Mark Twain, Hazel Fischer, Mokelumne Hill, San Andreas, and Albert Michelson elementary schools and the Christian Family Learning Center and Mountain Oaks School.
The schools have already narrowed down their students´ projects to a select few who will participate in the countywide fair.
First, second and third place ribbons will be given out in each grade level. Also trophies will be handed out for best of show, best of life science, best of earth science, best of space science, and best of physical science.
The Native Plant Society will also be on hand doing its own judging and giving out awards for projects involving plants.
An award ceremony will happen at 2:30 p.m., after which the fair will be open to the public until 4 p.m.
It will take place at the County Office of Education next to Calaveras Lumber in Angels Camp.
