Valley Springs, CA — For the past year, students at Toyon Middle School have been saving their change for the animals of Calaveras County.
Tuesday May 23, the 7th and 8th grade classes of Meryl Leigh and Dave Brainerd will present a $1500 check to the Calaveras Humane Society.
Throughout the school year the students brought in pennies, nickels and quarters and dropped them into a bucket on their teachers´ desk.
Last year´s effort raised $475.
