Sonora, CA — The hazards from the melting mountain snow pack will continue through the weekend in the Mother Lode.
The National Weather Service is reporting that area rivers are running high and the water is very cold.
Recreational boaters, hikers, swimmers and campers are encouraged to take extra precautions due to the hazardous conditions.
Officials believe strong river currents and hypothermia contribute to accidental deaths every spring in California.
