Sonora, CA — A couple of lost hikers emerged safe and sound early this morning.
Tuesday evening the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department received a call from 23 year old Daniel Lebor. He and an unidentified friend had taken a walk from their residence in the Sugar Pine area and became lost when darkness fell.
Sheriff´s deputies were unable to locate the two by a G.P.S. tracking device. Sgt. Matt Zelinsky says search crews included two rescue teams, quad runners that searched the area surrounding the north fork of the Tuolumne River and a number of volunteers. Due to fatigue, the search was terminated at 3AM.
At 7AM the Sheriff´s Department received a call that both hikers were safely home and unscathed form the incident.
