Angels Camp, CA — For the last 5 years, members of the Clan Dyken band have traveled to the Navajo Reservation in Arizona to help Native American families plant corn.
Every spring the Calaveras band and a group of volunteers make the trip to remote areas of the reservation to help with the corn planting, home repair and other labor.
Band member Mark Dyken says drought conditions in Arizona are threatening to make this a very tough year.
The band is putting on benefit concerts this weekend for the trip in early June.
Friday Clan Dyken will perform at the Black Bart Theater in Murphys and on Saturday they will be at the Blue Mountain Theater in West Point.
