Columbia, CA — Residents and tourists have been experiencing life as an early Gold Rush settler in Columbia State Park since Thursday.
The park was transformed back the area´s original state, when tent and shanty towns sprung up overnight in the Mother Lode.
Organizers say visitors to Tent Town 1852 have been able to wander through the early stages of Gold Rush towns, enjoy entertainment at the theater, step into the Saloon, and browse in the authentically recreated Browns Mercantile.
Tonight from 7:00pm-10:00pm visitors can take part in, Saturday Night in the Mines, which is authentic gambling of the period, entertainment, and an auction.
Tent Town 1852 will be up today and Sunday from 10am-5pm. For more information click here.
