Columbia, CA– The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will be conducting a ten day Firefighter Academy, running from June 19th through the 29th.
The program, a partnership between CDF and Columbia College, will cover training in wild land and structural fire control. The classroom training will take place at the college during the first week, followed by multiple skills courses on the second week.
After completing the program, graduates will receive CDF certification, required by the department to become a firefighter. Columbia College has a history for being an ideal training site for CDF fire fighters according to officials. So far, 47 individuals have enrolled in the academy
