Tuolumne Sheriff’s Deputies Stop Potential Drug Sale

Sonora, CA — More than six ounces of methamphetamine will not be sold in the Mother Lode thanks to the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department.

Deputies stopped an Hispanic man and a young Hispanic girl Friday near Green Springs and Hwy 108.

Reports indicate deputies searched the vehicle and discovered methamphetamine packaged for sale.

The man was taken to the county jail and the female juvenile was transported to the Probation Dept.

Officials say six ounces of methamphetamine, with a street value of several thousand dollars, is a significant methamphetamine seizure for this area.

An investigation into the source of the methamphetamine and where it was scheduled to be dropped off for resale has been initiated.
