Lake Don Pedro, CA — The Lake Don Pedro fire, certainly the first major blaze of the season, is now 60% contained.
That´s the word from C.D.F. Spokesperson Ed Allendorf early Wednesday morning. 852 firefighters have been involved in containing the 1,700 acre blaze which originated during the Monday noon hour when a camper hit a rock with a shovel. The resulting spark ignited the initial 15 acre vegetation fire.
C.D.F. officials report there have been no injuries to firefighters. In addition there have been no injuries to non-C.D.F. personnel or any structural damage during this south county fire.
