Sonora, CA — Hotel and motel rooms in Tuolumne County may be hard to come by until the Lake Don Pedro Fire is out.
CDF-Tuolumne County fire official Karry Hubbard says there are more than 800 firefighters battling the blaze and the majority of them are from out of county.
Red engines have filled the streets of Sonora since Monday as countless teams have been making their way from the Mother Lode Fairgrounds to the Lake Don Pedro fire.
Hubbard says there are crews up here from too many counties to mention, and all of them have been staying in local motels, making it difficult for holiday travelers to find any vacancies.
The firefighters are expected to stay in the area until the fire is out, which Hubbard hopes will be sometime Thursday evening.
