Stanilaus County, CA — A wind-whipped wildfire that started in western Stanislaus County has burned more than 27,000 acres.
Fire officials say the blaze in the Del Puerto Canyon is located about six miles from Henry W. Coe State Park. But despite the proximity, authorities have no immediate plans to evacuate the 87,000 acre park.
Ten homes and one outbuilding have been destroyed in the blaze that started Sunday. Smoke from this fire has been seen in the Mother Lode over the past couple of days.
