Sonrora, CA — The Mother Lode may experience showers and thunderstorms this evening.
The National Weather Service says the monsoonal moisture will first spread north along the Sierra Nevada and then west into the Mother Lode Thursday night.
In the High Sierra, thunderstorms are expected to contain heavy rain in addition to hail, dangerous lightning and gusty winds.
As the storms move toward the lower elevations, dry lightning strikes are possible.
