Coulterville, CA — Firefighters are expected to work through the night to put out a 150 acre vegetation fire on Highway 49 four miles south of the town of Coulterville.
More than 150 firefighters from Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Mariposa Counties have been battling the blaze since 11:00am.
Reports indicate no structures have been damaged or destroyed and firefighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire.
The northbound lane of Highway 49 has been shut down in the Bagby area, with Highway Patrol officials conducting traffic control. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
