Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department is inviting neighborhoods throughout the city to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 23rd annual “National Night Out” Tuesday.
The program is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships, and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are fighting back.
From 6pm to 8pm on August 1st, Sonora residents are asked to meet at the Opera House on South Washington Street and spend the evening with other residents and representatives from the Sonora Police Department.
For residents that cannot attend, police suggest locking your doors, turning on outside lights and spending the evening outside with neighbors and friends. The evening is designed for America to stand together to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity.
