Jeffrey "Jeff" Horne
It is with deep sorrow/sadness that we announce the passing of our father Jeffrey Douglas Horne.
Jeff passed away unexpectedly on August 23rd, 2026 at his home in Mi Wuk Village, California at the age of 63.
He was born on July 15, 1963 in Williamson, West Virginia. He led a life of dedication, proudly serving his country in the United States Navy and later working for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 35 Years.
Our father was an all-star athlete throughout his youth and soon after enjoyed coaching youth baseball for many years in Ripon, Ca. He spent several years as a member of the Ripon Quarterback Club devoted to raising funds for youth athletic organizations where he met some of his dearest friends. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. His favorite past times were spent near the water casting lines or out on the green where he spent his most recent retirement years working for the Twain Harte Golf Course, serving the people in his community.
Jeff was a fiercely loyal friend with giant heart of gold. A loving and providing husband, the absolute greatest father, and the best Papaw to his grandbabies.
He knew no stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He found immense satisfaction giving and helping in any way he could to support the people he loved. A man who would never accept any help or handouts, but one who was there for anything you needed.
He loved to make people laugh and each person that was gifted with his presence always felt welcomed and safe. If you knew Jeff you know he was one to always share a funny joke and loved to perform card tricks to impress people. He had a sense of humor that could never be matched. Jeff loved to share funny stories and make his grandkids giggle with his silly Donald Duck voice.
He is survived by his wife Stacy Horne; daughters, Christyn Horne and Amanda Wardlaw; step sons Matthew De Jong and Michael Dearaujo; grandchildren, Irie Leach, Jayda Warren, MJ De Jong, Jaxon DeJong, Wren Wardlaw & Kiara Mixon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Horne and Sarah Horne; and brother Ronnie Horne.
He will be missed dearly. There are no words to make up for this unimaginable loss.
The arrangements in his honor are still being worked on and will be shared as soon as possible with everyone.
