Chuck Hegwein passed away Monday, December 4th at his residence in Sonora, CA. When first moving to Tuolumne County Chuck went into turkey ranching and eventually purchased his own beverage distributing business which he ran for over 30 years. Chuck enjoyed fishing, horse racing and was an avid sports fan. He loved watching all sports but his favorites were watching Notre Dame football games and the 49ers. He held season tickets for 49er games for over 30 years. He thoroughly enjoyed watching all of his kids and grandkids play sports in high school. Chuck and his wife Frances traveled extensively and had been in 49 of 50 states. He was a school board member for the Columbia Elementary school for 25 years. He also enjoyed telling stories to his family and anyone else about his life experiences. Chuck is survived by his children; Bob Hegwein, Kay Hegwein-Harvey, Pat Hegwein, Janet Colvin and Colleen Iveson, grandchildren; Christie Vasquez, Katie Olsen-Hegwein, Luke Snow, Brik Snow,Tanner Harvey and 3 great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Frances of 65 years in 2014. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home are handling the arrangements.
