Fraguero, Lois

Lois Marie Fraguero, age 98, of Sonora, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Terzich and Wilson.
Lois was born on November 24, 1925, in Eureka, California, to George Gilbert Morrison and Leavurn Pinkerton Morrison. At the age of 8, her family moved to Columbia, California, where Lois became one of the first students to transition from the Old Historic School House to the newly established Columbia Elementary School. Later in life, Lois was instrumental in organizing the “Old Timers” annual reunion for those who had attended the Historic Columbia School House.

Lois graduated from Sonora Union High School in 1943, and soon after, on June 6, 1945, she married Louis Alfred Fraguero. Together, they had two children, Judith Ann Fraguero Pesce and Danial David Fraguero. Lois and Louis shared 58 wonderful years of marriage before Louis preceded her in death.

A devoted homemaker, Lois was passionate about genealogy, gardening, and representing Clan Morrison at the Scottish Games. She was an active and dedicated member of St. James Episcopal Church and the Daughters of the King.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Judith Ann Pesce; grandchildren: Shauna “Cookie” Pief Love, Rodney Louis Pief, Marrki Lou Pesce Posten, John Louis Pesce, and Tony Fraguero; great-grandchildren: Jennifer Olson, Denise Cole, Alisha Smith, Brittni Pief, Malori Posten, Josie Posten, Steton Pesce, and Coleman Pesce; and great-great-grandchildren: Addison Smith, Penelope Simpson, Troy Smith, and Olivia & Elizabeth Conchola.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests charitable donations be made to the Sonora Area Foundation, honoring Lois’s commitment to her community.

Lois will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
