Michael D. Kiszlowski passed away Wednesday, March 28th at Avalon Care Center in Sonora, CA. He was born on February 9, 1944 to Mitchell and Eleanor Kiszlowski in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Salesian High School in Detroit in 1962 and joined the Air Force on August 8th of that year. After serving in the US Air Force for 4 years, he married the love of his life, Mary (McMartin) Kiszlowski on July 11, 1969 and moved to Southport, Indiana. Their growing family moved to the Central Valley in California in 1978. Michael worked as a salesman at Sears and Montgomery Ward for many years before obtaining a position as a clerk for the Postal Service from which he retired. After 38 years of marriage, Mary precede him in death on July 4, 2008. He moved to Sonora in 2009 to be closer to family and began his long battle with dementia. A lifelong Detroit Lions fan. Michael’s greatest pleasure were his family fishing and food. HIs penchant for relaxing on a boat with a fishing p ole in one hand and a Bud Light in the other spoke to his laid-back spirit and restful pursuits. His greatest achievement was being a loving husband and supportive father to his family. His fatherly advice in his “man-cave” will always be cherished. Michael is survived by his daughters Kathryn and Shelley, their husbands Jeffrey and Andrew and 5 grandchildren; Kayleigh (and husband John), Juliette, Jaron, Brayden, and Avery. We are blessed to call him father and friend. Heuton Memorial Chapel are handling the arrangements.
