Prescribed burn with fire engine
Tuolumne, CA — Firefighters will be out doing a planned burn this Friday, October 10, at the Mt. Havalia Vegetation Management Project site adjacent to the community of Tuolumne.
Smoke will be visible in Tuolumne and the surrounding area. The goal is to maintain and improve a fuel break along the top of the North Fork Tuolumne River Canyon. It is also an opportunity to strengthen interagency relationships through training.
Agencies on hand will include CAL Fire, Tuolumne Rancheria Fire, Tuolumne Fire District, and the Twain Harte Fire District. The burning will take place between 9 am – 5 pm. There will be fire engines, hand crews, and a water tender on the scene.
