Forest Fire Ban In High and Moderate Hazard Areas Terminated

Sonora, CA – Stanislaus National Forest (STF) reports it has lifted the fire ban on High and Moderate Hazard Areas.

The termination occurs as stormy weather is forecasted to move through the Mother Lode this weekend, bringing recent precipitation and cooler overnight temperatures, according to forest fire managers.

“Current Burning Index and Energy Release Component are well below thresholds, with expected weather forecasts to bring more rain to the lower elevations and an abundance of snow in the higher elevations,” noted Deputy Forest Fire Management Officer Clint Gould.
