Update at 4:05 p.m.: Ground and air resources have stopped the spread of a vegetation fire near Peaceful Oak Road in the Sonora area of Tuolumne County. The Norte Fire ignited along the 20000 block of Del Norte Road. CAL Fire reports crews have stopped the flames’ forward spread at a quarter acre in size. Crews will remain on scene for the next couple of hours working on full containment. What sparked this blaze is under investigation. Further fire details can be viewed below.
Original Post at 3:46 p.m. Sonora, CA—Ground and air resources are working a vegetation fire, named the Del Norte Fire, that ignited along the 20000 block of Norte Road in the Sonora area of Tuolumne County.
The blaze is near Peaceful Oak Road, off Mono Way. CAL Fire reports the fire is a quarter acre in size and burning at a slow rate of spread. There is no word as to whether any structures are threatened. We’ll have an update as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
