Update: The Heat Advisory

The Heat Advisory currently in effect for the Mariposa County foothills and the central San Joaquin Valley, will expire at 8 PM tonight.

According to The National Weather Service, high temperatures of up to 106 degrees is expected in some locations.

Such hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially in those more sensitive to heat.

The Heat Risk will range from Moderate to Major.

During the Heat Advisory, drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
