Colorado Fire burn scar near Midpines—CAL FIRE photo
Mariposa County, CA – Containment of the Colorado Fire burning near Midpines has climbed to 33 percent, and traffic is moving once again on Highway 140, with delays.
The acreage remains steady at 233 acres. Caltrans reports that one-way traffic began on Highway 140 this morning, with traffic controls at the Yosemite Bug Hostel and Briceburg Road. A pilot vehicle is escorting motorists through the impacted area, and travelers can expect delays. Drivers are asked to slow down and use caution where fire crews and equipment are on the roadway. Caltrans advised Yosemite National Park visitors to utilize Highways 41 and 120 to enter the park this weekend and check highway conditions before making the trip.
