If you missed the first two classes in the Supervisor Workshop Series, there are still two remaining in the series for you to attend. These fast-paced workshops are being offered as hands-on learning for business owners, managers, supervisors, team leaders, and community leaders. The series is conducted for the local business community as a collaborative effort of Columbia College and the Economic Development Company (EDC) of Tuolumne County. The program is presented by Robert Taylor & Associates, a professional workforce development training firm with over 20 years of experience with local, national and international businesses and organizations. Among their list of clients are Kraft General Foods, Pacific Southwest Containers, E & J Gallo Winery, Delicato Family Winery, Hilmar Cheese Co., Tuolumne County Department of Public Works, and the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
"Problem Solving for Fun & Profit" will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, Oct. 28 and 30 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the EDC office at 39 North Washington Street in downtown Sonora. Participants will learn how to target problems that need solving, and how to make the problem solving process a collaboration within the organization. How to use problem solving to improve the bottom line and keeping the change moving forward will also be taught. Anyone, who is a supervisor or is preparing to become a supervisor, should not miss the "Seven Sins of Supervising" class on Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 4 and 6, also being held at the EDC office from 8 to 10 a.m.
Valuable skills, like communicating effectively on all levels, recognizing attitudes that help or hinder progress, developing an action plan for changing a supervisor´s skill set, and coaching for positive change will be discussed.
