Update at 8:45 p.m.: All evacuations have been lifted, and roads have been reopened. Deputies will increase patrols in the areas as residents return.

Update at 8:39 p.m.: The forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Crews will remain in the area, reaching full containment.

Update at 8:31 p.m.: Highway 49 is open. Mormon Creek Road and Rimrock Road remain closed.

Update at 8:22 p.m.: Rawhide Road from the Shell Station to Highway 49 is closed. All evacuation orders remain in place.

Original post at 7:42 p.m.: Jamestown, CA—Fire resources are on the scene of a vegetation fire near Bostwick Road and Rimrock Road in Jamestown. The fire has been named the O’Neill Fire, and it is reportedly burning at a moderate rate of spread and is approximately 3-4 acres in size. Evacuation orders have been issued for Rimrock Road, Mormon Creek Road, and Rawhide Road from Rimrock to Highway 49. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s reminds residents that if they feel unsafe, to leave immediately and not wait for evacuation orders. Additionally, motorists are advised to avoid the area.
