Update at 6:15 p.m.: PG&E crews are making progress in restoring power to those who lost it as snowy, blustery weather continues to plague the Mother Lode. In Tuolumne County, the lights are back on for 296 customers along Phoenix Lake Road. However, a new outage in the Cedar Ridge area is being reported by the utility and impacting 133 customers with equipment issues determined to be the cause and no restoration time given.
In Calaveras County, there are two new outages in the Arnold area affecting 53 customers north of Highway 4. The company blames the weather for the outages and no estimated repair time has been given. Three outages remain in Burson west of Highway 12 with 78 customers still in the dark and about 12 customers in San Andreas. The company reports a combination of equipment problems and weather attributed to those outages and also has no repair time posted.

However, there remain outages in San Andreas and Mountain Ranch affecting 36 and three outages in Burson west of Highway 12 with 78 customers. The impacted areas are along Phoenix Lake Road stretching from Highway 108 through Peaceful Valley up to Ridgewood Drive and Old Phoenix Lake Road. Update at 1:30 p.m. written by Tracey Petersen: Power outages persist this afternoon as the wet and windy weather continues in the Mother Lode. There have been several power outages and here is an update on those areas still without lights. In Tuolumne County, 296 PG&E customers remain without electricity due to an equipment issue, which crews are on scene working to repair. The impacted areas are along Phoenix Lake Road stretching from Highway 108 through Peaceful Valley up to Ridgewood Drive and Old Phoenix Lake Road. The estimated repair time given by the utility is 5:14 p.m.
There remain scattered power outages in Calaveras County in the San Andreas, Mountain Ranch and Sheep Ranch areas affecting 70 customers. In Mokelumne Hill, there are 60 customers west of Highways 26 and 49 intersection and in the Burson area, four outages are impacting 135 customers on both sides of Highway 12. The company reports a combination of equipment problems and weather attributed to the outages, with their restoration times sometime this afternoon into the evening.
Update at 8:21am written by BJ Hansen: There are some new power outages reported in the Mother Lode this morning, in addition to the earlier incidents.
PG&E reports that 46 customers are without power outside of Tuolumne along Eden Lane, Garden Court and Chapel Hill Court.
54 customers are without electricity in the Sherwood Forest region near Twain Harte.
36 customers are without power near Mountain Ranch. It is unclear when there will be full restoration.
Original story posted at 6:35am: Sonora, CA — The lights have been flickering in various areas this morning, and some parts of the Mother Lode are experiencing power outages.
PG&E reports that hardest hit areas include 392 near Copperopolis, 313 along Phoenix Lake Road and the Peaceful Valley area, 148 south of Wallace 142 in Paloma and 60 in Mokelumne Hill.
There are smaller outages in Twain Harte, Mi Wuk Village and Columbia.
The CHP reports that there is PG&E pole that caught on fire along Meadow Brook Drive, and it could be the reason for the outage in the Phoenix Lake area.
Areas in the Central Valley have also been hit hard, so PG&E will be busy in various areas throughout today and likely tomorrow.
