Sonora, CA — Some new signs were recently put up warning people about fire danger in Tuolumne County.
The signs were funded by the Highway 108 Fire Safe Council, and are located on Highway 49 at the Pedro Y, along the Highway 108 bypass near Hess Road, and on Highway 108 near the Montezuma Junction. The signs are in support of CAL Fire’s wildfire prevention campaign.
The Highway 108 Fire Safe Council is a non-profit organization operated entirely by volunteers with the goal of preventing and reducing the loss of wildfires. They are involved with several projects and programs throughout the year.
