Vegetation Fire In Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA — There are Fire Fighters and Columbia Air Units responding to a vegetation fire in Tuolumne County. The fire is on the 18000 block of Blue Bell Road just off of Tuolumne Road in Sonora. The CHP is reporting power lines are down. There are reports this could be the result of a car versus utility pole accident. There are also reports a structure may be on fire.

Update: 4PM: There are reports that a black pick-up truck smashed into a utility pole bringing live power lines down onto the road. Also, the CHP is reporting the person in the truck is injured and emergency crews can’t get to the person because of the power lines going across the road. There is no word on whether there are power outages in the area.

Update 4:15PM:  PG & E Spokesperson Nicole Leebelt says there are around 130 resident without power including the Junction Shopping Center.

Update 4:26PM: Blue Bell Roadway is closed to through traffic.
