Columbia, CA — Firefighters and Columbia air units are headed to a vegetation fire in Calaveras County. There are reports that a structure may be in danger. Flames broke out in some grass on Parrotts Ferry Road north of Natural Bridges. There is no word on size or rate of spread. We will bring you more information as soon as it is available.

Update 10:35am: Cal Fire reports the fire is 3 to 5 acres at a moderate rate of spread.
Update 11:15am: Cal Fire reports the flames have spread to 10 acres. They say more equipment is being called in to battle the blaze, but luckily no structures are threatened.
Update11:40am: Cal fire says air units have been able to lay a retardant line around the fire. They are still working on getting hoses all the way around the flames. There is still no word on containment.
