Additional Emergency Personnel

Tuolumne, CA — Additional law enforcement and fire officials are around Tuolumne City and the Highway 108 corridor this afternoon.

Spokesperson Scott Johnson of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office stresses that nothing has changed when it comes to the severity of the evacuation advisories for the area. He says more-and-more officials are arriving from outside the region, and they need to get a feel for the neighborhoods, homes, access roads, where they can turn fire apparatus around, and so forth.

Areas of Tuolumne City, Ponderosa Hills and the south side of the Highway 108 corridor (Soulsbyville to Mi-Wuk-Sugar Pine) remain under an advisory evacuation notice.

The latest update the Rim Fire is that it has burned nearly 134,000 acres.
