Rim Fire Grows Slightly

Tuolumne County, CA — Rim Fire Incident Command reports winds and smoke kicked up today. The Rim Fire grew by nearly 400 acres bringing the total to 256,895 and it is still 84% contained. I.C. reports most of the growth was in the forest lands near Cherry Lake and Hetch Hetchy. They say the winds did cause more smoke in the surrounding areas of the fire. The number of firefighters still on the scene is 1,540 at a cost of $114.7 million.
