Tuolumne County, CA — The Incident Command reports that the Rim Fire remains 84% contained and 256,895 acres.
The fire is still spreading slowly in the rocky Yosemite and Emigrant Wilderness areas. Mop-up operations continue in the areas where the fire activity has quieted down.
Crews still need to make repairs to 155 miles of suppression line. To this point, 66 miles of dozer line have been repaired, two miles of hand line, 19 miles of road repair, and 52 miles of wood chipping. 10 firefighter injuries have been reported since the start of the fire on August 17.
1,371 firefighters are on scene today. The total cost to fight the blaze is up to $116.1 million.
