Update at 6:55 p.m.: CAL Fire reports that crews have stopped the forward progress of a vegetation fire in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County. Spokesperson Emily Kilgore details that the fire is 1 to 2 acres in size. The blaze started in some grass in the 2700 block of Quail Hill Road near Charmstone Way and Arrowhead Street in the Copper Cove Subdivision. Crews will remain on scene working towards full containment and mopping up for the next couple of hours.
Original post at 6:22 p.m.: Copperopolis, CA — Fire crews are heading to a vegetation fire in the Copperopolis area of Calaveras County.
CAL Fire reports that the flames ignited in the 2700 block of Quail Hill Road near Charmstone Way and Arrowhead Street in the Copper Cove Subdivision. There are reports that homes are threatened, but there is no word on the fire’s size or rate of spread. An update will be provided as soon as new details come into the newsroom.
