Update at 5:50 p.m.: CAL Fire dispatch reports that crews have stopped the forward rate on the “Murray Fire” burning in the Mokelumne Hill area of Calaveras County. The flames ignited in some grass along the 5500 block of Hawver Road, between Jesus Maria and Doster roads, east of Highway 49 around 4 p.m. Crews will remain on scene working toward full containment and mopping up into the evening. Original post at 4:20 p.m.: Mokelumne Hill, CA — Ground and air resources are responding to a vegetation fire in the Mokelumne Hill area of Calaveras County.
CAL Fire reports the flames ignited in the 5500 block of Hawver Road, between Jesus Maria and Doster roads, east of Highway 49. There are no details regarding the fire’s size, the flame’s rate of spread, or whether any structures are threatened. An update will be provided as soon as new information comes into the newsroom.
