Update at 6:30 p.m.: CAL Fire reports the Live Oak Fire remains 250 acres but the containment has grown to 50%. All advisories evacuations were lifted in the four o’clock hour with only road closures still in place along Yaqui Gulch Road from Highway 140- Guadalupe Creek Road. There have been no injuries report and no structures destroyed or damaged. Crews will continue working on containment overnight.
Update at 4:40 p.m.: The Live Oak Fire burning near Mormon Bar in Mariposa County remains 250 acres and 25-percent contained. Crews continue to make progress as the sheriff’s office reports all the advisory evacuations have been lifted. Still in place are the road closures that included Yaqui Gulch Road from Highway 140- Guadalupe Creek Road.

Update at 7:10am: CAL Fire updates this morning that the Oak Fire near Mormon Bar in Mariposa County is now 250 acres and 25-percent contained. In addition, great progress was made overnight fighting the Mile Fire near the Woodward Reservoir outside of Oakdale. It is 508 acres and 100-percent contained.
Original story posted at 6:19am: Mormon Bar, CA — The Live Oak Fire in Mariposa County is now 200 acres and five percent contained. It is near Live Oak Road and Yaqui Gulch Road, west of Mormon Bar. There are no evacuation orders, but an evacuation advisory notice has been issued for all of Live Oak Road, parts of Highway 140, and a part of Yaqui Gulch Road. Residents in those areas should be prepared for the potential to evacuate.
Also, last night a fire ignited northeast of Woodward Reservoir in the Oakdale area. It is 225 acres and 15-percent contained. The fire is at the intersection of East Sonora Road and 28 Mile Road. No evacuations have been called for at this time and crews will be working to fully extinguish the incident throughout today.
