Sonora, CA — Effective today, burning is allowed in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties in the CAL Fire state responsibility areas.
Burn hours are from 7pm to 8am, and a burn permit is required. Permits can be picked up from any CAL Fire station. It must also be a permissive burn night, as declared by the local Air Pollution Control District.
Burn permit restrictions limit the pile size to 4ft. x 4ft. There must be 10 ft. of clearance around the pile, and you must remain in attendance and have easy access to a water supply.
