Dumped Ashes Start Fire

Sonora, CA — Several fire engines responded to a small grass fire in the 20500 block of Deerfield Drive in Sonora.


CAL Fire reports that fireplace ashes were dumped into a debris pile, and it started the small blaze. Thankfully, the fire was put out before it could spread to any nearby homes or buildings. It was reported at around 8pm on Sunday. A City of Sonora fire engine responded, as well as CAL Fire resources from Jamestown and Sonora.
