Update: Vegetation Fire Near Pinecrest

Update at 10:45am: Officials are making progress slowing a fire located between Strawberry and Pinecrest. The “Strawberry Fire is about 1.3 acres. Forest Service spokesperson Traci Allen reports that hose and hand lines have now been established around it. Officials remain on scene from the Forest Service, CAL Fire and Tuolumne County Fire. They will continue to work on mopping it up throughout today. No structures, trails or roads are impacted.

Original story posted at 6:51am: Pinecrest, CA — Officials are responding to a vegetation fire reported in an area between Pinecrest and Strawberry.

It is located on Herring Creek Lane in the Stanislaus National Forest. Smoke is visible in that area. The fire is estimated to be between 2-3 acres in size. CAL Fire is assisting the Stanislaus Nation Forest on the incident.
