Tuolumne County, CA — You may notice smoke today in the Stanislaus National Forest.
A 30 acre prescribed burn will be lit in an area off Italian Bar Road, near Deer Creek. Smoke could be visible for a couple of days along the Highway 108 corridor, notably in the Twain Harte and Long Barn region.
The prescribed burn is designed to be a proactive way to reduce vegetation build-up in the Forest.
