The J-59 Fire Now 80% Contained

La Grange, CA — The J-59 Fire is now 80% contained and remains at 500 acres.

Crews continue to battle the blaze this afternoon.  The flames started late Wednesday morning on J-59 and Bonds Flat Road west of Don Pedro Reservoir.  Initially, there were three fires, but as the flames spread, Cal Fire combined the three fires calling them the J-59 fire.  No homes or structures are threatened. Crews were able to stop the forward rate of spread at 4 pm yesterday.  There is no word on what sparked the blaze.  Also, it is not immediately clear when there will be full containment.
