San Andreas, CA — A vegetation fire on the southside of San Andreas has shut down Highway 49.
Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says, “The fire is 20-25 acres, there is a structure threat, but it is unknown how many structures.”
Highway 49 is closed at the old airport outside of San Andreas near Buckskin Way. The flames broke on the 300 block George Reed Road around 4 pm. Williams says they do not know how the fire started. Firefighters are battling the blaze from the ground and air.
