Brushing Up On Fighting Wildfires

Angles Camp, CA — You may see smoke in the skies Saturday morning over Angels Camp.  While some of it may be from the Reed Fire, most of it will be from a training day to improve skills on fighting blazes, just like the that one burning in San Andreas.

The Angels Camp Fire Department exercise will start at 8:30 this morning and run through 4 pm.  Fire officials say the training will allow firefighters to train with live fire in a controlled environment. You may notice not only the smoke, but also plenty of emergency vehicles just south of the city near the fairgrounds.

In addition, the Gold Country Fireman’s Muster is going on all weekend at the fairgrounds with firefighters from across the state. The public is invited.
