Stanislaus National Forest, CA — Forest Service officials report the vegetation fire near Hunter Creek is contained at two acres. The blaze broke out around 8 am this morning off Buchanan Road and east of Tuolumne City.
Crews battled the flames from the ground and the air. Columbia Air Attack and two Cal Fire engines assisted. The resources on the ground included 5 engines, 2 water tenders, and 3 hand crews. In the air, there were 2 helicopters, 2 air tankers and Air Attack.
Forest Service officials say crews will remain on scene for the rest of the day mopping up and watching for hotspots.
