Roads Open In Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park has re-opened Big Oak Flat Road, meaning that there is access to Yosemite Valley if coming in on Highway 120.

The road had been completely closed yesterday due to increased fire activity. You can also access Tioga Pass if coming into the park from Highway 120. The El Portal Fire is 3,900 acres in size and 34% contained.

The fire is being managed by a Type I Incident Management Team, in conjunction with Yosemite National Park and Stanislaus National Forest.

Smoke is visible throughout the park and visibility will fluctuate throughout the day.  Park visitors are urged to use caution while driving in the park due to decreased visibility.
