Rim Fire Suspect Released On Bond

Fresno, CA – The U.S. District Attorney’s Office reports the man accused of sparking last year’s Rim Fire has posted $60,000 bond.

32-year-old Keith Emerald was released from custody after appearing in federal court in Fresno Friday afternoon. His next court date will be a status conference on October 14th at 1pm before

Magistrate Judge Barbara A. McAuliffe. Emerald faces two felonies, and two misdemeanors. Prosecutors allege that he illegally started a fire, which got out of control.  He has pleaded not guilty.
